05-06 March 2009 SSI has hosted the first seminar of ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeeting)
At the SSI headquarters in Taranto, it was held on March 5-6 the first ASEM seminar, entitled "New Technologies for Demining and Human Security" organized by Directorate General for Asia, Oceania, the Pacific and Antarctica at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
SSI was chosen because of its innovative approach in the field of technologies for humanitarian demining. Leader in the design and development of advanced software high-critical, reliable and systems, addressed to national and international market, SSI is in fact creating a system for automatic control of cooperating robots, in which humanitarian demining in a potential scenario test application.
7 February 2008 SSI contributes to the Columbus on-board software development
SSI provided a significant contribution to Columbus,the European Laboratory developed by the EuropeanSpace Agency (ESA) and launched at the beginning of February by the Shuttle Atlantis at the Nasa Kennedy Space Center in Florida. SSI participation in the Columbus programme consists in the development of the Core Application software Product (COAP), one of the main on-board software systems.
5-6 February 2008 SSI has participated in Mind@share
The prestigious Palazzo Salviati, headquarter of the Defence High Studies Centre hosted the second edition of the MindSh@re Event, the traditional meeting with the professional Communities that have been set up within the homonymous Finmeccanica project. SSI participated with a speech about the SAVE-ME (Sistema Adattativo Veicolare per sminamento) project, based on the swarm intelligence approach, developed in the frame of the research and development activities carried out by SSI on cooperative multi-agents systems.
01 September 2007 The new SSI is born

15 July 2007 SSI is the first Finmeccanica company with CMMI certification
Space Software Italia is the first Finmeccanica company, and among the first ones in Italy, to be awarded with the CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) level 3. Prepared by the Software Engineering Institute of the Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), CMMI is an international standard that allows to evaluate industrial processes quality according to a five levels scale.
