SSI
SSI is a subsidiary of Finmeccanica group company Elsag Datamat Spa. It is a leading designer and developer of advanced software systems for mission-critical applications requiring total reliability and quality, working both in Italy and internationally in the defence, space and public administration sectors. SSI also offers advanced technology solutions and services, drawing both on the huge wealth of expertise in Elsag Datamat and an ongoing commitment to research and development.
Established in 1988 following a successful joint venture between Alenia Spazio and Computer Sciences Corporation, in 2007 SSI became a subsidiary of Elsag Datamat, the Finmeccanica company which brings together the Group's ICT competences. With headquarters in Taranto and offices in Rome and Pisa, SSI draws on the professional skills of about 250 people.
SSI has many years' experience working with the leading space and defence sector agencies on key programmes promoted by the Italian Space Agency, the European Space Agency and the Italian Ministry of Defence. The company's international scope also extends to research and development, making contributions to research and innovation projects promoted by the European Commission for Information Technology.
